Frequently asked questions
Simple answers about sharing, connecting and what happens next.
What is GIST VINE?
GIST VINE is a human understanding platform: a space where people share what is happening, connect through live conversations and help shape better decisions. We understand before action.
Do I need an account to take part?
No. You can choose a question and type, record or upload your response without creating an account. Sign in is required only for deeper contributor and client views.
Can I take part without giving my name?
Yes. Your age range, age in years, gender and location are optional when sharing a response. Your first name, email address and phone number sit separately under Stay in touch. We need an email address or phone number if you ask for updates, and a verified email if you want a contributor view or register for a live conversation.
What is a live conversation?
A real-time conversation online or in person, one-to-one or in a small group. The invitation will explain the format before you decide whether to join.
Will a live conversation be recorded?
Not unless we tell you clearly beforehand and ask for separate permission. Anonymous notes may be taken to support What We Hear.
What happens to what I share?
We listen for themes, differences and questions. We use these to deepen live conversations and create anonymous learning for What We Hear.
Will my words be published?
We may use short anonymous extracts or summarise a theme. We will not publish your name, email, phone number or identifiable recording without additional permission.
Can I change my mind?
You can stop at any time before submitting. After submitting, use the privacy-request form to ask about withdrawing consent or deleting identifiable information.
What is What We Hear?
It is the public qualitative view: reviewed themes, key differences and open questions from each conversation. A summary appears only after it has been deliberately published and there are enough voices to share it responsibly.
What is What We See?
It is the quantitative view. The general page shows global participation totals and conversation activity. Verified contributors can see privacy-protected views based on the demographic information they provided, while subscribed clients can use the full set of aggregate breakdowns.
How do you count people who leave without sharing?
When someone opens a conversation, we create a random participation-session reference. If no response is received after 30 minutes, it is counted as an unfinished session. It is a measure of sessions, not a claim that every session represents a different person.
What is the Insight Workspace?
It is the secure deeper-analysis area for authorised teams. It contains representation analysis, voice review, participation signals, evidence, exports and action tracking. Raw responses and contact details are never placed on the public pages.
Do I need a subscription?
No subscription is needed to take part or use the general What We See and What We Hear pages. A verified account unlocks a contributor view. Active client subscriptions unlock full aggregate breakdowns, custom conversations and a dedicated workspace. Payment is not collected directly on this site yet.
Will I be paid to take part?
Not every conversation includes an incentive. If one is offered, the invitation will explain it before you decide whether to participate.
